Wonderfully traditional and characterful place in excellent location! Superb staff so welcoming and friendly. Changed our rooms to be together (travelling with a teenager). A real adventure to explore all the different parts of the hotel but that's what gives it the charm it exudes. Yes it's an older hotel but give me that over a soulless modern "block" any day. Wonderful gardens and even turtles swimming in the pool at the back. It can't be easy maintaining somewhere like this but all public areas were spotless and the staff really cared about where they work. Even having a real wood burning open fire was wonderful! Breakfast was plentiful and very very good quality, and frequently replenished so ignore the reviews about things running out (some people are just too impatient to wait 5 minutes for a new tray of whatever to come out!) Good choice of pillows in the room, hard or soft, and nice big comfy beds. Plentiful towels and easy to get beach and gym/pool towels too. Didn't use the outdoor pool as a little cold but such a nice sun trap to sit in the sun and relax. We saw the seagull problem, coming from a seaside town in England we know about these birds first hand, and full marks to the hotel for paying the "eagle man" who we saw walking around with his beautiful bird of prey to scare them away. It was still quite fun watching the gulls playing in the water after he'd gone, and they were certainly not aggressive monsters like we have at home! Every little detail is being taken care of it seems as best as it can be - after all, it was completely full in February, that's not bad going! Some grumpy people we saw, but then people often expect too much. Plentiful free parking too! Final fine point that makes it even nicer, someone personally shows you to your room and on the way tells you about the facilities and times etc. Oh and there was ample, hot, water 24/7!

I stayed here as a solo traveler in Feb 2025 after completing the Fisherman's Trail hike. This hotel is well located right outside the old town area of Lagos, and a short walk to the marina and the city bus terminal. This four star hotel is starting to show signs of its age, but in a very charming and elegant way. The sweeping staircase at the lobby entrance was a nice sight. I didn't use the pool or spa area due to weather, but they looked nice. The bar and common seating areas were great - I especially enjoyed the library and the indoor communal fireplace each evening. Staff could not have been more kind and had the utmost professionalism. The breakfast was very good and had a variety of dishes to choose from. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Good wifi and good hot water pressure in the shower. There was a small balcony that was pleasant to sit on in the mornings. I had an excellent stay here. Highly recommended, and I would absolutely stay again.

Very impressed with this hotel. Upon arrival the staff was welcoming, professional and friendly. Our room was immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were first rate. The bathroom was spacious, clean and well appointed. The buffet breakfast was incredible! It had an amazing variety of offerings and is definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. We also took advantage of a 20% discount for the buffet dinner one evening and were equally impressed. Again, the food and service couldn’t have been better. Finally, the location was great. It was an easy walk to town and down to the water. We were also able to walk to the hiking trail (boardwalk) that took us along the breathtaking coastline.

The room was large and comfortable, with an amazing shower, room to spread out our stuff without tripping over it, and a balcony with table and chairs. There were lots of common areas to hang out in: a library, several lounges, a big seating area around a fireplace (with a fire in the evenings, nice touch), bar, and restaurants. The buffet breakfast was the best we’ve had, and the buffet dinner was excellent. Large outdoor parking area.

Ideally, it is located right by the marina, so it is easy to get boat trips. This is also very close to both the train station and the bus station. Close to the old town and to lots of good restaurants. The shuttle bus to the hotels pool and restaurant on Duna Beach is a real highlight. The breakfast was very good. It was nice to get drink vouchers when we didn't use daily house cleaning. The outdoor pool space was very inviting, too.
